1. Who we are

TimeZoneBar is published by Opus Accountancy Limited, a limited company registered in England and Wales, company number 03956240, with its registered office at Bretton House, Bell Meadow Business Park, Park Lane, Pulford, Chester, CH4 9EP.

Opus Accountancy Limited is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. That means it decides what is collected and why. This policy covers the TimeZoneBar app only. It does not cover any website, and it does not cover any other app.

2. What this app collects

TimeZoneBar does not collect or transmit personal data to us. There is no account or sign-in, and the app has no analytics, advertising or crash-reporting service. Its clocks, city search and meeting planner work on your Mac without an internet connection.

If you choose to email support, we receive your email address and the message or attachments you send. That is separate from using the app. Please include only what we need to understand your question, and remove private details from screenshots.

3. What this app does not collect

Apple groups the data an app might collect into categories, and asks a developer to declare which apply. For TimeZoneBar, these do not:

• contact information, such as your name, email address or phone number
• health or fitness data
• financial information, such as payment card details
• your location
• sensitive information, such as racial or ethnic origin, health or sexual orientation
• your address book or contacts
• content you create, such as photos, messages or files
• your browsing history
• your search history
• identifiers that could be used to recognise you or your device
• your purchase history
• data about how you use the app
• diagnostic data, such as crash logs or performance measurements
• any other personal data

The app does not track you. It does not link what you do in it to data from other companies’ apps or websites, and it shares nothing with data brokers.

4. Why, and the lawful basis

The app does not send us personal data to process. If you contact support, we use the information you provide for our legitimate interest in answering your enquiry and helping you use the app. You can object to this use by contacting us.

Things that stay on your device

Your chosen cities and timezones, their labels, groups, menu-bar codes and working hours are saved in the app’s preferences on your Mac. Collapsed groups, display colours, clock format, menu-bar options and availability rules are also saved locally. There is no account, cloud sync or server holding a copy of these settings.

City search uses a catalogue included with the app. TimeZoneBar uses your Mac’s system clock and timezone settings to calculate times; it does not request your device’s physical location, or access your contacts or calendar events.

Choosing Copy meeting time places a text summary, including your location labels and the selected meeting times, on the macOS clipboard. Other apps or clipboard features you use may then receive that text. We do not receive it. The app does not create calendar events or send invitations.

Open at login is an optional macOS login-item setting. Your own backup software may also copy local app preferences according to your backup settings; those backups are separate from TimeZoneBar and are not sent to us by the app.

Children

This app is not directed at children, and it does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal data through this app, contact us using the details below and we will delete it.

How long data is kept

Saved locations and preferences remain on your Mac until you change or reset them. In Settings → Zones, remove individual locations or choose Restore Default Zones to replace your list with the starter locations. Settings → General → Reset All Settings resets appearance and availability preferences but leaves your zones unchanged. Open at login is controlled separately.

Moving a Mac app to the Bin can leave its preferences behind. Do not rely on uninstalling alone to clear your saved settings. Copies in backups, clipboard history or other apps must be managed separately. Contact support if you need help removing remaining local preferences.

If you email support, we keep that correspondence only for as long as needed to answer the enquiry, deal with related follow-up and meet any applicable legal obligations.

Security

TimeZoneBar runs in the macOS App Sandbox and stores its preferences locally. The app has no server holding your locations or planning data. Protecting your Mac account and any backups also helps protect your saved preferences.

Your rights over your personal data

We cannot read, retrieve or erase the settings stored on your Mac. You control them through the app and your Mac, as described above.

For personal information you provide when contacting support, you can request access, correction, erasure or restriction where applicable. You can also object to our use of it for legitimate interests. Email [email protected] to exercise these rights. You can complain to the ICO using the details below. We do not use your information for profiling or automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always the one published on this page, and its effective date is shown at the top. Where a change materially affects what the app collects, it is accompanied by an update to the app’s App Store privacy details.
