Pulsepane Privacy Policy
What Pulsepane collects, why, where it goes, and the rights you have over it. This policy covers the app only.
Effective date: 29 September 2026
Our legal documents are published in English only, and the English text is the authoritative version. If you would like help understanding any part of it, email [email protected].
1. Who we are
Pulsepane is published by Opus Accountancy Limited, a limited company registered in England and Wales, company number 03956240, with its registered office at Bretton House, Bell Meadow Business Park, Park Lane, Pulford, Chester, CH4 9EP.
Opus Accountancy Limited is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. That means it decides what is collected and why. This policy covers the Pulsepane app only. It does not cover any website, and it does not cover any other app.

2. What this app collects
Pulsepane reads system information on your Mac to display CPU, memory, disk, network, GPU, battery and internet health widgets. Measurements, recent history and preferences are stored locally. The app has no Pulsepane account and does not send your monitoring history to Opus Accountancy Limited.
Internet Health makes automatic connectivity checks while Pulsepane is running. The default targets are your router, Cloudflare’s 1.1.1.1 and apple.com; you can change the test hosts in Settings. These checks use your network’s DNS resolver and contact the test hosts directly. External hosts can receive your public IP address and ordinary connection information; they do not receive your stored monitoring history. These checks can run even if you have not purchased the Internet Health widget.
Speed tests are optional, disabled by default and started manually after you enable them in Settings. They download and upload test data to Cloudflare’s speed test service. Cloudflare receives your IP address and information needed to handle the requests under its own privacy policy. Test results are saved on your Mac. A speed test uses internet data, so take care on a metered connection.
Apple handles App Store downloads, purchases and restoring purchases under its own terms and privacy policy. Pulsepane checks purchase entitlements on your Mac and stores which widgets are unlocked. Your payment card details are not sent to us.
If you email support, we receive your email address, your message and any attachments you choose to send. Please avoid including passwords, payment details or unrelated personal information.
3. What this app does not collect
Pulsepane includes no advertising, tracking, analytics SDK or third-party crash-reporting SDK. It does not send us your files, browsing history, process names or system measurements. It does not use your information to build an advertising profile.
Network checks and purchases do involve the external services described above. Keeping your monitoring history local does not mean that the app makes no internet connections.
4. Why, and the lawful basis
We do not receive the system monitoring data held on your Mac. If you contact us for support, we use the information you provide for our legitimate interests in answering enquiries and resolving problems with the app. We do not use support correspondence for advertising.
Apple and the network services contacted directly by your Mac handle their own service data under their own privacy policies. Their processing and retention may take place outside the United Kingdom.
Things that stay on your device
System measurements, process information made available by macOS, connection test results, local history, widget choices and settings are shared between the app and its widgets through local storage on your Mac. Pulsepane does not offer a cloud account or sync this history to our servers.
macOS may ask for Location Services permission so Pulsepane can display the name of your current Wi-Fi network. Pulsepane does not request or store geographical coordinates. You can decline or revoke this permission in System Settings; monitoring continues, but the Wi-Fi name may be unavailable.
Children
Pulsepane is a general-purpose Mac utility, with no social features or advertising. In-app purchases are managed by Apple; parents and guardians can use Apple’s purchase restrictions. If a child sends personal information to our support address, contact us to request its removal.
How long data is kept
Pulsepane periodically prunes monitoring history while the app is running. Detailed samples are kept for a shorter period, with longer-term summaries and events retained for approximately 30 days. Pruning is not performed while the app is closed. Current snapshots, preferences and cached purchase entitlements can remain until the local app data is removed.
Quitting Pulsepane stops its monitoring and automatic checks. Deleting the app from Applications may leave its local app data on macOS. Contact support if you need help removing that data; we cannot remotely erase it. Copies in your own backups and Apple’s purchase records are separate.
Support correspondence is kept only for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and any applicable legal obligations. External service providers determine retention for the requests they receive under their own policies.
Your rights over your personal data
You have rights over the personal data we process as controller. We aim to respond promptly; how long a response takes depends on the nature and extent of the request. You have the right to:
- request access to your personal data under Article 15 of the UK GDPR, so that you receive a copy of what we hold;
- request rectification under Article 16 of any errors or inaccuracies in it;
- request erasure under Article 17 where there is no good reason for us to continue processing it;
- object to processing under Article 21 where we rely on legitimate interests and you believe your own interests or rights override them;
- request restriction of processing under Article 18, for example while its accuracy is established;
- withdraw consent under Article 7 where we process on the basis of your consent;
- request the transfer of your personal data to you or to another controller under Article 20.
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. There is no charge.
We do not carry out automated decision-making that produces legal effects concerning you or similarly significantly affects you, and we do not profile individuals.
Getting help with the app
Questions about how Pulsepane works, rather than about your personal data, are answered on the support page at opus.expert/pulsepane/support, which also explains how to ask for your data to be deleted.

Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always the one published on this page, and its effective date is shown at the top. Where a change materially affects what the app collects, it is accompanied by an update to the app’s App Store privacy details.
